BRANTFORD, ONT – The Brantford Titans head into the final week of the regular season just one point outside the Eastern Conference playoff picture with 3 games remaining.
Up first will be the Cambridge Redhawks on Thursday. These two teams have split the season series so far 2-2 with each club also scoring 12 goals each throughout the four games against one another. The latest meeting saw Brantford go into Galt Arena Gardens on Family Day and pick a 3-2 overtime win. Ethan Szabo was the hero that afternoon as he sniped his 27th goal of the season twenty seconds into overtime. Cambridge has already clinched a playoff spot and can finish no lower than sixth place in the conference. This week’s game will get underway at 7:30 pm at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre.
The next opponent will be the Ayr Centennials. This has been a very entertaining season series between the Titans and Centennials. These two teams have also split the season series so far with two wins apiece. The home team has won every game in this season series and at home, the Titans have outscored the Centennials 11-4 and the finale goes this Saturday at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre. Ayr is also headed back to the Sutherland Cup playoffs and they will look to keep pace with St. Catharines at the top of the conference. Puck drop is set for 2:30 pm.
Finally, it will be a date with the Pelham Panthers to end the regular season. It’s fitting that this is the season finale for the Titans. Not only because these two teams met on opening night, but also because it could decide who makes the playoffs and who goes home. Pelham is currently holding down the final playoff spot but only by a single point. The Titans are leading the season series 2-1 over Pelham and have outscored the Panthers 15-14 in those three games. This game takes place at the Meridian Community Centre in Pelham on Sunday at 7:15 pm.
