KEVIN BEECH NAMED TITANS HEAD COACH

BRANTFORD, ONT – The Brantford Titans are pleased to announce the hiring of Kevin Beech to be the team’s next head coach. The Brantford native and former goaltender, joins the club after a lengthy playing career which included stops in the OHL, AHL, CHL and SPHL in North America and the GerObL over in Europe. Beech is also a former draft selection of the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2005. He was selected in the 6th round, 165th overall.

“Fitzy and Mike have put together a great hockey environment, especially for the players, a place to really kind of grow and develop as an individual hockey player and then also as a team in that kind of environment”, said Beech speaking about what excites him the most about coming to the Titans. “And there’s just a ton of hockey knowledge in the organization. And that was something just that really, really appealed to me to be in that kind of environment.”

When speaking about some former coaches that he played under, Beech said that his coach in Sudbury is one of the ones that really stood out to him. “One that always comes to mind is
Mike Foligno. I had him for four years in Sudbury and just on professionalism, his attention to detail just always, always impressed me.” Beech played 136 games in Sudbury under Foligno and had a record of 60-55-14, with 3 shutouts in that span.

It may only be the end of June but Beech and the entire staff is ready to get camp and the season underway. “Oh, yeah, I’m ready to go. I know I know players need to need a little bit of break after the season and, offseason training is such a huge part to get ready for it. But I’m talking to Fitzy and Mike every day and we’re ready to go.”

Beech will coach his first game for the Titans on Saturday August 16th against the Kings as the Titans will kick off their preseason schedule in Komoka.

Welcome to the Titans Kevin!
