DOLAN SECURES 1ST CAREER SHUTOUT; TITANS DOWN BOMBERS 6-0

BRANTFORD, ONT – The Brantford Titans welcomed the Caledon Bombers to town as the two teams completed their season series at the Gretzky Centre. Titans came into action on an 8 game point streak that saw them go 5-0-2-1 in the stretch including a 3-2 overtime win in Cambridge this past Monday.

In the first period, Tim Dolan was put to work often in the Brantford net as the Bombers sent a ton of pucks on goal looking to break the deadlock but the Titans net minder was having none of it. Bombers would also get themselves a power play opportunity with a ton of offensive zone time but they could not beat Dolan. Immediately following the Caledon power play, the Titans would start to get their legs moving which would lead to the games first goal. On a delayed Caledon penalty, Kaleb Frank would work his way through the defence and beat Marek Andreoli to break the ice and give the Titans a 1-0 lead. Tyler Crisostomo and Lucas Muhn would collect the assists. That would be the only goal of the opening period with the Bombers outshooting Brantford 13-11.

Early in the second period, Caledon would get another opportunity on the power play however, they were unable to get set up in the Titans zone allowing the Titans to go 2 for 2 on the penalty kill. Less than 2 minutes after the penalty expired, Kaleb Frank would snap one past Andreoli to give Brantford a 2-0 lead. Jack Pancoe and Quinton Kim-Lemay would record the assists on Frank’s 11th goal of the season. Less than 3 minutes later the Bombers would be on the power play again but it would be the Titans capitalizing as Szabo and Crisostomo would break in on a 2-1 with Crisostomo finishing off the play for his 32nd of the season giving the Titans a commanding 3-0 lead. Titans would fire 18 shots at the Bombers net in the second period and outshot Caledon 29-17 through 40 minutes.

The Titans would continue to add on in the third. Adam Stipan would pot his 11th of the season to make it 4-0. Patrick Babin would collect the lone assist. The Titans would get their first power play of the game midway through the 3rd as Shane Buchanan gets a double minor for kneeing. Titans would work the puck around quickly in the offensive zone leading to Stipan’s 2nd of the game. Szabo and Crisostomo would pick up the assists. Titans would add one more as Lucas Muhn would be Andreoli for his 6th goal of the season. Tim Dolan records his first career GOJHL shutout as he stops all 25 shots that Caledon fired his way. Brantford extends their point streak to nine games with the victory.

The Titans are back in action on Saturday in Caledonia.
